Your Ideal Edinburgh Trip — Personalised for You
Receive a detailed itinerary tailored to your interests, pace, and travel style – with insider tips and thoughtful planning from someone who’s spent years exploring Edinburgh.
How It Works
-
Step 1: Fill out the request form
Tell me about your trip — when you’re coming, how many days you’d like planned, who’s travelling, and the kind of experiences you’re after. The form takes around 5-10 minutes and helps me get a clear picture of what you want.
No payment is needed at this stage.
-
Step 2: Receive a quote
Within 1-2 working days, I’ll review your answers and email you a personalised quote along with a delivery timeframe. I’ll also let you know if I need to clarify anything before confirming.
-
Step 3: Confirm and pay
If you’re happy with the quote, you can confirm and make payment. Once that’s done, I’ll get started on your itinerary.
-
Step 4: Receive your itinerary
You’ll receive a day-by-day PDF itinerary via email. Each plan is tailored to your pace and interests, with optional extras like family-friendly tips, pram routes, and local food spots.

About Us
We’re the team behind One Journey Away — a husband-and-wife duo who have made Edinburgh home for more than a decade.
This itinerary service is mostly run by me, Ashley — I’ll be the one shaping your plan, designing your PDF, and communicating with you throughout. But I’m never short of ideas thanks to my husband, Arek, who adds practical insights and thoughtful touches based on our own experiences exploring the city together.
Having moved here ourselves, we remember what it was like to see Edinburgh with fresh eyes — and that’s part of what helps us create plans that are welcoming, realistic, and built around what actually makes a visit special.

FAQs
How much does an itinerary cost?
Prices start from £25, depending on your trip length and needs. You’ll get a clear quote before paying anything.
How far in advance should I request an itinerary?
It’s best to get in touch at least 2-3 weeks before your trip so there’s plenty of time to plan and fit you in. I can sometimes offer quicker turnarounds depending on my schedule — just ask, and I’ll confirm the timeframe upfront.
What if I’m just thinking about visiting but haven’t booked yet?
That’s absolutely fine — you’re welcome to browse the form and get in touch when you’re ready. I only begin work (and hold a slot) once payment is confirmed after quoting.
Do you book things for me?
No — this service is all about planning and suggesting, not booking. You’ll receive a ready-to-use itinerary with links and tips, but you’ll making bookings (like tours and restaurants) yourself.
I’ve already got some ideas — can you help me shape them into a plan?
Definitely! If you’ve started a rough itinerary or saved a few must-sees, I can help turn it into a smooth, day-by-day plan that flows well and makes the most of your time.
Will I be following a set schedule?
Not at all — your itinerary is flexible and self-guided, so you can use it however suits your day. It’s there to make decisions, not lock you in.
Will the itinerary work offline?
Yes! You’ll receive a PDF version of your itinerary that you can download to your phone, tablet, or print out for your trip.
Can I ask questions after I receive the itinerary?
Yes — you’re welcome to come back with up to 3 questions if anything’s unclear or you’d like a bit of extra guidance. I want you to feel confident using the plan, even if your trip isn’t set in stone.
Can you plan around accessibility or special needs?
I’ll do my best! If you let me know about any mobility needs, sensory considerations, or other access-related factors in the form, I’ll tailor the suggestions accordingly.
Do you only plan Edinburgh trips?
Just now, yes — I specialise in Edinburgh and nearby areas, so I can offer in-depth, practical suggestions rather than general tourist info. If you’re thinking about somewhere else in Scotland, feel free to ask — I’ll let you know if it’s something I can help with.
