Now that you know some of the must-visit places on the Isle of Skye, let’s move on to some of the lesser-visited places!
1. Claigan Coral Beach
Claigan Coral Beach was formed from the bleached skeletons of a red coraline seaweed. It looks like quite a “normal” beach from afar but upon closer inspection, you can tell that it’s not sand!

Do note that there is very limited parking during peak times. As well, because of the long walk to and from the beach, it’s unlikely that there’d be much movement of cars in short spans of time!
Time allowance: 1.5 – 2 hours for walk to and from beach
2. Sligachan Old Bridge
This bridge near the beginning of the drive through Skye (from the mainland) offers nice views of the Cuillin mountains – if the weather permits!
Sligachan Old Bridge
Time allowance: 10 – 15 minutes
3. Glen Brittle Waterfalls
Now this one is a great hidden gem! Across from the Glenbrittle Youth Hostel, Glen Brittle Waterfalls seems to be relatively unknown to most tourists and is a great alternative to the Fairy Pools. You don’t have to walk for forever to get to the falls like you do at the Fairy Pools and you also don’t get the insane number of tourists.

Time allowance: 15 minutes, more if you want to walk up beyond the waterfall
4. Lealt Falls
Lealt Falls can be seen from above and the water eventually goes over the cliff into the sea. You also get a bit of a view onto the Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing.
Lealt Falls
Time allowance: 20 – 30 minutes for a short walk around the area
5. Elgol
Elgol is a lovely wee village towards the south of Skye. It offers beautiful views of the Cuillin mountains across the water.

The other thing that is stunning is the drive to and from Elgol!

Time allowance: 15 minutes
